Nicole Corbo — Founder + Lead Educator
Prior to Founding Telos Teaching, Nicole earned a BA in Philosophy and BA in Political Science from Assumption College (2017) and an MA in Liberal Arts, with a focus in Philosophy and Theology, from St. John’s College, Santa Fe (2020). Nicole has led hundreds of seminars on the Great Books, instructed students at the adult & undergraduate level, organized pre-college programs where she lectured on the topics of philosophy & education, held graduate fellowships in virtue ethics, advised senior theses, and guided tenth-grade students through the great works of the European tradition while teaching at a preparatory academy. She has seen dozens of students graduate under her instruction, many going on to meaningful vocations, Ivy League institutions, and valuable trades.
Throughout her career, Nicole has had experience teaching a wide range of curriculums, including classical methods such as Charlotte Mason & The Great Books, social justice initiatives, and problem-based learning. She has taught mathematics, science, grammar, phonics, composition, literature, history, geography and nature-studies. Nicole has professionally trained through the Institute for Excellence in Writing and studied towards Level I Classical Educator Certification while working for Classical Academic Press. As of 2024, she has logged over eight-thousand hours privately tutoring and homeschooling students ages six to eighteen, both in-person and online.
Outside of the classroom, her greatest loves, besides a good book and a better conversation about it, are traveling and discovering new restaurants with her partner, trying as many outdoor hobbies as possible, and getting more people on bikes as a PMBIA Certified Mountain Bike Instructor.
